The University of Saskatchewan's College of Agriculture need to revamp their alumni magazine to bring it in line with the level of education, research and recognition that the school had built in the preceding years. To appeal to this increasingly more technical and scientific audience we stripped back the magazine to bare essentials, with a no tolerance policy in effect for clipart or cheesy stock photography that is endemic to these sorts of publications.
The clean aesthetic and readability were well received by alumni, and while the magazine has become more playful in subsequent issues, the underlying philosophy remains.
